The Canadian Performing Arts Initiative

A new performing arts hub in London & St. Thomas — offering classes, camps, performances, and space for creativity to thrive.

Who are we?

The Canadian Performing Arts Initiative is a growing community space designed to bring people together through music, theatre, and creativity.

We are building something bigger than classes. We are building a creative community.

From children discovering the stage for the first time, to experienced performers looking for a home — this is a place where ideas come to life.

A polished grand piano with a deep black lacquer finish and open lid revealing gleaming strings, placed center stage in a mid-sized Canadian theatre. Rich red velvet curtains frame the background, with rows of empty, upholstered seats fading softly into blur. Overhead stage lights cast a cool, focused spotlight on the instrument, creating crisp reflections on its curved surface and subtle shadows across the wooden stage floor. Photographic realism at eye level, using a gently shallow depth of field, conveys a professional yet inviting atmosphere, suggesting the anticipation of a youth performance in a clean, modern performing arts venue.
A neat arrangement of theatre, music, and dance teaching materials laid out on a light maple rehearsal studio floor. There is a stack of worn but well-kept theatre scripts with colorful sticky notes, a glossy black metronome, a spiral-bound music theory workbook, and a pair of soft, beige ballet slippers with slightly frayed ribbons. Behind them, a large wall mirror reflects a bright, spacious studio with a mounted barre and acoustic panels. Diffused daylight streams in from high windows, creating a calm, focused mood. Shot from a low, three-quarter angle in photographic realism, with sharp focus on the objects and a gentle bokeh on the reflected room.

What we offer:

A pair of well-used, tan character shoes and black jazz shoes placed side by side on a clean sprung dance floor, their soles showing gentle wear from rehearsals. Nearby, a folded navy hoodie with a small embroidered maple leaf logo rests atop a black dance bag, with a printed rehearsal schedule partially peeking out. In the blurred background, wall-to-wall mirrors and a single upright piano indicate a multi-purpose Canadian performing arts studio. Warm, late-afternoon sunlight slants through high windows, creating long, soft shadows and a reflective sheen on the floor. Photographic realism from a low-angle close-up conveys discipline, dedication, and quiet anticipation.

PA Camp Days!

Join us on April 24 and May 29 in St. Thomas for some fun musical theatre PA Day Camps. These camps will work on singing, acting and dancing to prepare and perform a short scene at the end of the day!

A professional sound and lighting control station at the back of a small Canadian theatre, featuring a sleek digital mixing console with glowing faders, a compact lighting board, and neatly coiled XLR cables. The view looks outward over an empty auditorium toward a softly lit stage framed by deep blue curtains. Cool, dim ambient light in the booth contrasts with a warm, focused wash on the stage, emphasizing the technical side of performance. Photographic realism from an elevated, over-the-shoulder perspective, with the console in sharp focus and the stage slightly softened, conveys a serious, professional atmosphere of backstage arts education.

A close-up of a polished wooden djembe drum with intricate carvings and a taut, cream-colored drumhead, placed on a clean studio floor marked with thin colored tape indicating formations. Around it lie laminated rhythm cards and a small, battery-powered digital tuner. In the softly blurred background, a wall-mounted whiteboard lists today’s objectives for a youth rhythm workshop. Warm, diffused window light combines with gentle overhead fixtures, creating an inviting yet focused atmosphere. Photographic realism from a low-angle close-up, with shallow depth of field, underscores the tactile, hands-on nature of music and movement education in a professional learning environment.
